From Vocal Works - Change in Ordering Originals of Sheet
Music
May 1, 2025
Dear Friends,
The purpose of
this message is to let the Vocal Works community know about a
forthcoming change. Two years ago, I sent a “Fact Sheet” about the
current status of Vocal Works and its future, especially the future
beyond my personal stewardship.
I received
several offers to take over one or more of the aspects of this
enterprise. The most promising offer came from Daystar Foundation &
Library in Oklahoma City,
www.daystarfoundation.org.
Daystar is an organization with a mission
“to preserve and present the history of Christian Science, its
Discover and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, and those individuals who helped
her in the founding of the Church of Christ, Scientist.”
Daystar sees as
consistent with that mission, the preservation and presentation of the
sacred solo music that has been the focus of my activity over the past
25 years. Let me clarify first, that I will continue, for as
long as I’m able, to add to and enhance the Solo Bank and other key
features of the Vocal Works website. Eventually, though, Daystar will
get all the sheet music that I have accumulated, as well as the
recordings and related materials. They will continue the availability
of the sheet music and offer access to the recordings, though not
necessarily in the current format of the Solo Bank.
As a first step
toward this transition, Daystar has agreed to fulfill requests for
original printed (permanently out-of-print) copies of copyrighted music
as I have done. On May 9, I will ship to Daystar my entire inventory of
duplicate sheet music and solo music collections. What does this mean?
1.
Until May 9, 2025,
I will fulfill orders for originals of copyrighted music (denoted by the
red boxes throughout the Solo Bank). After that date, requests should be
directed to Daystar Foundation & Library:
info@daystarfoundation.org
or (405) 848-2238. They will work out the details for providing printed
material on an individual basis. They will not charge for the music but
ask only to be reimbursed for their shipping cost.
2.
For the foreseeable
future, I will continue to
fulfill orders for PDFs (denoted by the purple diamonds throughout the
Solo Bank).
In conclusion,
you should know that I have great confidence in Daystar Foundation &
Library, a substantial nonprofit organization with the ability to carry
on the work that I have initiated. I thank them for their generosity,
initially in taking over a difficult part of my work and then committing
to ensure that the sacred solo music that has been a part of our church
services will be available to future generations.
Best wishes to
all,
Dick Frantzreb
