Can't Play the Sound Files?

If you are unable to play MP3 files automatically, try the following instructions.  We recommend that you print this page (control P), and read from the printed copy while you follow the instructions.

  1. Click the "Start" button and select "Programs" or "All Programs."
  2. Within "Programs" select "Accessories."  (You may have to wait a moment for the choice to appear, or you may have to click on the down-pointing "v's.")
  3. Within "Accessories" select "Entertainment," then "Windows Media Player."
  4. When "Windows Media Player" opens, click on the "Tools" menu at the top, and select "Options."  (If "Tools" does not appear as part of a menu bar, try any other available menus until you find and can select "Options.")
  5. When the "Options" menu opens, select "File Types," and be sure the box next to "MP3 Audio File" is clicked.  Then click "OK" at the bottom of the window.
  6. Leave "Windows Media Player" open, and return to your Web browser and the open page from the Vocal Works Website.  Now click on the icon associated with a music file, and the file should play for you.
  7. You will not have to go through this procedure again.  Hereafter, whenever you click on an MP3 file, "Windows Media Player" should launch automatically and play the sound file for you.

Close this window when you are finished.  (Click the "x" in the top right-hand corner of the screen.)
